What is the dress code? BALLET/TAP/JAZZ/LYRICAL: All students must be in some form of dancewear (ex: leotard, tights, lycra shorts, etc.) Color choices are optional. No loose covering such as baggy t-shirts or sweat pants should be worn during class. All hair must be pulled back off the face in a pony-tail or bun. No dangling jewelry is permitted. ACRO – One piece leotards are required. They may be worn with footless tights or capri/footless pants. No loose covering should be worn. All hair must be pulled back off the face in a pony-tail or bun. No jewelry is permitted. Failure to comply with dress code rules will result in the student having to sit out of class.

What is your policy on attendance? Students who miss no more than 3 classes will receive an attendance trophy at the recital. Those students who miss no classes will also receive a perfect attendance medal. To qualify for perfect attendance, a student must attend every class on their scheduled night. Please make an effort to get to class on time. It is very distracting to the teacher and students when a child arrives late and interrupts the class after it’s begun. If a child is more than 5 minutes late for class they are considered tardy. If a child accumulates 5 tardies, it will count as an absence on their attendance record.

How do I know if classes are canceled? If both Washington and Frederick county schools close for bad weather, we automatically close as well. That includes schools closing early for snow. We also close for holidays, but not county in-service days. Closings will be posted on the studio Facebook page.

How do I pay for classes? Payment is divided into 10 monthly installments (Sept.-June). Payment is due the first lesson of each month. If paying by check, please include the student’s name and reason for payment in the memo section. If paying in cash, include payment in an envelope with your child’s name and reason for payment on the outside. All payments are to be deposited in the gray box in the entryway. There will be a $25.00 fee for all returned checks. Accounts that are more than 30 days overdue will incur a $20.00 late fee.

What about costumes? A $30.00 costume deposit will be due in December. Costumes range from $30.00-$45.00. When costumes arrive in early spring, you will pay the balance.

When is the recital? We have 2 recitals in June at Middletown High School. There is a 1:00 and 5:00 show. The younger students will only be in one show. Dress Rehearsal takes place the day before on Saturday.
